Winter Oklahoma Wedding: Jessica and Skylar

Winter Oklahoma Wedding Jessica and Skylar

“I had a GREAT experience working with Lively Letter Co. “

“Julia and I knew each other from college and I had seen how talented she is, so I knew I could trust her to design stationery and signs that were exactly what I envisioned. She communicated with me throughout the entire process, and the end result was perfect for our wedding day.”

When Jessica and I first talked about their stationery, she said she wanted a soft, romantic and whimsical look for her invitations. Creating a custom wedding invitation with hand-painted watercolor florals was the perfect look for their winter Oklahoma wedding. We carried the watercolor florals on to two signs for the ceremony, which tied the whole look together.

Jessica and Skylar first met through the BCM while attending Oklahoma State University. “We were in the same friend group since freshman year and started dating at the end of our sophomore year. It was pretty clear early on that we wanted to spend forever with each other, and Skylar proposed in St. Louis in January of our senior year. We’ve been married almost 6 months now and it still feels like a dream!”

“I wanted to take advantage of soft blues and greens and lots of greenery since we were getting married in the winter! I ultimately just wanted it to feel like us and to spend the day celebrating with our favorite people. Oh! And a coffee truck was also a must!”

Y’all. There was a coffee truck, taco dinner, AND donut wall.

My favorite part of the day was right after Skylar and I said “I do” and walked back down the aisle, we had a few minutes alone before pictures started. It was a really sweet moment, and we were just in shock that we were actually married! I also loved dancing at the reception with all my best friends and getting to see people from all different stages of our lives!

Jessica’s advice to brides-to-be: “The biggest advice I could give a future bride is to not worry about your wedding day more than you need to. I know it’s WAY easier said than done, but ultimately it’s just one day and in the end you’ll be married which is what really matters. Planning can be stressful but don’t be afraid to DIY as much as you can because it will help save a ton of money and make the day feel personal!

Also, take time to stop and look around during your wedding day. It’s easy to feel like you have to go from one thing to the next, but it’ll be way more special looking back if you take time to really enjoy it.”
