Real Wedding: Emily and Jared

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be a perfect time to share our first Lively Couple and Real Wedding Highlight… Jared and Emily! Now I may be a little biased (she was my roommate for two and a half years in college after all) but Jared and Emily’s wedding was one of the best weddings I’ve been to. The whole day was so exemplary of who they are as a couple and so full of joy and love! I asked Emily to share about their day from the bride’s perspective:

“We are Jared and Emily Minnix, and we pride ourselves in being the biggest game lovers, Oklahoma State football fans, and best dog parents you’ve ever seen. We (so romantically) met on tinder our freshman/sophomore year of college, but if you knew our personalities, you would laugh and probably be confused about why we were on tinder. Jared proposed to me, a year and a half later, on the hill of my grandparents’ farm, where we would later use as a backdrop to our scenic wedding. “

“Jared and I value authenticity in our daily lives; we wanted each guest to hear the Gospel, and truly understand how important our relationship with Christ was going to be in our marriage. Every detail, from the venue, to outdoor games, and the breakfast food & donuts screamed our personality. After all, our first date was breakfast. And we love games. “

Oh yes, they served a full brunch at their wedding combined with mimosas and donuts – and yes, it was amazing. Jared and Emily were not afraid to make their wedding truly their own, and it resulted in a fun and unique day that stands out among the rest.

“The highlight of our wedding day was definitely our first look. Seeing Jared for the first time after all the anticipation was the most awe-filled, genuine moment I’ve ever been apart of. “

These photos get me every time – Jared’s reaction was one of overflowing, genuine love for his bride and it was such a sweet moment before they would meet again at the altar.

“Lively Letter Co. was a dream to work with. Julia is very knowledgable of tradition, but is readily able to adapt to new trends and styles that brides are looking for. She even incorporated the hill of my grandparents’ farm on our wedding invitations!”

Emily’s tip for brides?

“Never be afraid to ask for help, but know that you can never please everybody. Do what makes you feel confident and stress-free on the day of your wedding!”

Emily and her dad worked together to clear out the barn on the farm and string up lights. It was the perfect setting for their first dance!

Emily and Jared’s day was full of sweet touches. Jared’s dad officiated and they planted a tree together on her grandparent’s farm after the ceremony. Having the wedding at their grandparent’s farm was so special to them and I was thrilled that we could include the custom touch on their invitation. At the end of the day, Jared and Emily rode off on their family’s carriage, overjoyed after such a beautiful day.
